So this next collection of gift ideas are all centred around books. Choose your audience wisely though as most teenagers will look at you with utter disdain if you even try and gift them with an actual book.
If your an independent writer its a massive task to promote your work so I wanted to shine a light on some of the amazing writers I have come across and of course I'm going to include my own offerings in the mix too. So here is a collection of true crime books and journals that would make excellent Christmas presents for the true crime lovers in your life.

How about something really different, a collection of letters and artwork from serial killers. Andrew Dodge and myself created book 1 of a series showcasing Andrews 13 year collection of murderabilia. Features many serial killers already executed

Or how about some twisted tales from an ex Policeman? Retired Sergeant Darren Burch takes you on a 30-year journey of dark, humorous and depraved cases from his experiences as a patrol officer, sex crimes detectives, and night detective in homicide, starting with his harrowing teenage encounter with a fatal car fire in Twisted Metal, followed by morbidly funny and outrageous stories, each more twisted than the last.
If you want something a little more unusual then I highly recommend Serial Pleasures.
Serial Pleasures Publishing is an independent publishing house that distributes the works of French author Nico Claux in English as well as colouring and art books from other underground artists.
If Theodore Bundy is your obsession then I must highly recommend Mr Kevin Sullivan. A writer of history and true crime, Kevin M. Sullivan is the author of sixteen books, a former investigative journalist for both print and online media, and is a recognized authority on serial sex killer, Ted Bundy. Fun fact he had one of Bundy's murder kits.
Although not strictly true crime the extreme horror genre seems to share a fan base in a lot of instances. The horror writers below are amazing and independent. If you follow their social media they offer signed copies and goodie bags as well as download codes. The great thing about indie writers is that they also communicate with you if you comment! Beware these books are not for the faint hearted, not mother in law material.
How about a little art, maybe some colouring to feel less murdery or a bit of light trivia. These books make great presents for the true crime lovers in your life
Here are some other truly great crime stories if your sick of serial killer hype. Criminologist Judith A. Yates has appeared as a guest speaker, lecturer, and instructor for numerous organizations for over 25 years
How about some tails from down under? Amanda Howard is a traditionally published true crime author and fiction writer as well as a violent crimes consultant who has written 25 books over the past 14 years including fifteen books on a wide range of true crime cases.
John Borowski is an award winning independent filmmaker and author whose works have garnered international acclaim and are distributed internationally on DVD, television, and streaming. His books are also amazing.
There are many more independent true crime writers out their just hoping someone will buy their work so this year, maybe a book or new journal will make both the seller and receiver happy.
